Krista is a seasoned operator with many years of experience scaling early-stage companies from inception to exit. She is currently a partner at Sugar Capital, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments in the future of commerce.
Prior to joining Sugar Capital, Krista was a co-founder of POPSUGAR, a global media and commerce brand, which merged with Group Nine Media in 2019 and was later acquired by Vox Media in 2022. Krista held various positions over her 14 year career there including EVP of Editorial Operations and EVP People, Culture and Corporate Citizenship. Krista was also a founding employee at Sugar Media, an IPTV technology company, that was acquired by 2Wire in 2003 and then by AT&T in 2006.
Krista started her career as an investment banker at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco. She continued her banking career as an early employee at Savvian which was acquired by GCA Corporation in 2016 and then acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2021.
Krista graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington with a BA in Business Administration/Accounting. She currently lives in Aspen, Colorado with her husband, two sons, and a large yellow lab.
